DAY 273 – LOVE CAN MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another;” (Romans 12:9-10)

Love and honour involve no hidden motives. We do not love and honour so that we are rewarded. We do not honour the wealthy and the mighty so that they will contribute to our cause. We honour people because they are created in God’s image, because they are our brothers and sisters in the Lord, and because they have a unique contribution to the body of Christ. Let us strive to outdo one another, in showing love and honour. 

To love and honour is to put others first, to look at people through the eyes of grace, to see value in every person, to celebrate every person, to see potential and gifts in every person, to help everyone become a better person, and to honour the uniqueness of every person. Love and honour can make our world a better place to live in. Jesus is Lord!

Today’s Prayer
Dear Holy Spirit, 
Teach us to love one another. Let love prevail against evil. Let love bring the best out of us. Let love be the taste of our culture. Let the world know us for love and honour, and Christ be manifested through us. May the world see You in us because we love. Let love transform our world, and Jesus be lifted and manifested through our lives. Amen.
