DAY 263 – LET US PURSUE LOVE AND HONOUR

“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfil my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” (Philippians 2:1-3)

Selfishness brings discord. Let us, therefore, pursue spiritual unity, love for one another, and be one in spirit and purpose. When we work together, caring for the problems of each other as if they were our problems, we manifest Christ’s example of putting others first, and we experience the power and blessings of unity. Let us not be so concerned about meeting our own needs that we strain relationships in God’s family. Jesus is Lord!

Today’s Prayer
Dear Father,
Teach me to love like You. Create in me a loving Spirit. Teach me to love Your people as You do. Teach me to see people through Your eyes, to love them and honour them no matter their background, outlook and mistakes. I will see You and see possibilities in people rather than what they have done wrong, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
