DAY 240 – GOD HAS COMPASSION FOR YOU

By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde

“Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.” (Luke 7:11-15)

The story of the widow and her son illustrates salvation. The whole world was dead in sin just as the widow’s son was dead.

We were dead, unable to help ourselves—we did not even know how to ask for help. But God had compassion on us, and He sent Jesus to raise us to life with Him.

The dead man did not work for his second chance to live. The same with us, we cannot work for the new life in Christ. We just accept God’s gift of righteousness and live a new life with Him for eternity. Let us thank God for the new life and live to do His will only. Jesus is Lord!

Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank You, for coming at my rescue at the right time. I am grateful for salvation. When I had no strength and hope to live, You came and paid for my life, and gave me a reason to live. When the devil had reduced me to nothing, You gave me Your own life. I am now seated with You, in the heavenly places. Thank You Jesus!

(Study Ephesians 2:1 and Ephesians 2:4-7).
