DAY 209 – AFFLICTION SHOULD NOT COME A SECOND TIME
By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde
“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” (James 4:1-2)
Disputes and fights are so harmful among believers. We should not allow disagreements and hostile feelings to enter our hearts. Ask the Holy Spirit daily to help you guard your heart from contention. Salvation has set us free from hostile feelings, and condemnation – Romans 8:1 says; “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”.
If God does not accuse you of the things you have done, do not accuse others, keep your heart clean. If we accuse others or accuse ourselves, we build up the very things Jesus destroyed.
Galatians 2:18 says; “For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor”.
Psalm 107:17 says; “Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted”.
If we accuse others (listen to or promote accusation among ourselves), we are going back to build up what salvation destroyed, and if we continue, we are building up iniquity in our hearts. We shall therefore be afflicted. If we walk in love, grace, and unity – affliction shall be far away from us. Jesus is Lord!
Today’s Confession
I refuse hostile feelings to enter my heart. I reject the spirit of accusation. I refuse to submit under the accuser of the saints. I guard my heart from the things Christ destroyed. I am full of the Spirit of God. I walk in love, grace, and peace. Affliction shall not rise up a second time, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
