DAY 207 – WE RECEIVED EVERYTHING HE ABANDONED

By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Jesus is very rich; He never filed for bankruptcy, but rather became poor by giving up His rights as God and as King over all. He gave up His glory and abandoned His position as King, and voluntarily became a servant. He gave up His rights as God and became human. He abandoned heaven and became a citizen of Nazareth – where nothing good came from. He came out of the timeless, and as a man; Jesus became subject to time, place, and other human limitations.

He set aside His glory, and His rights, because of;

a) His unconditional love and grace.

b) In response to the Father’s will; He limited His power and knowledge. Christ became “poor” when He became human, because He set aside so much. Yet by doing so, He made us “rich” because we received everything He abandoned.

c) We received salvation and eternal life. Jesus is Lord!

Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank You, for obeying to the point of death on the cross. Thank You, for giving up Your position and rights for me. You did not know sin and yet You became sin, so that I can become the righteousness of God. You became son of man, so that I can become a child of God. Because of Your obedience, I am made righteous, holy, perfect, and obedient. By Your stripes, I have obtained perfect health. Through Your poverty, I am made rich. Thank You Jesus!
