DAY 196 – RENOVATE YOUR MIND

–to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:19)


We should fight against wrong thinking. We cannot afford to entertain thoughts that God does not think about us.

God declares in Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The mind that is not aligned with the word of God, is a hiding place for the lies of the devil to dwell in and to attack from.

The warning from Jesus about a wrong mind-set in Mark 8:15, is very serious. Jesus warns His disciples about these potential negative influences over their mind. ‘Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”’

What does Jesus mean by these two mind-sets?

1. The leaven of the Pharisees is a religious system – where God is at the centre, but people deny His power.    

2. The leaven of Herod is a political system – humanism or humanistic in nature, which controls the system of this world.

The system of the Pharisees and Herod is all about controlling the minds of people; putting them in a box and fencing them in, making people become spiritually dead inside and live according to what they perceive outside, and hindering them from God’s best.

The biggest outside influence is Satan and his demons, they feed human beings with all kinds of lies that stop them from experiencing the perfect will of God. We say no to the lies of the devil in Jesus’ Name. Jesus is Lord!

Today’s Prayer
I rebuke the lies of the enemy that have tried to penetrate my mind. I will not believe things that God has not said about me. I renovate my mind with the word of God. I reject the spirit of fear and uncertainty. I am a child of God, a dwelling place of the Holy Ghost. I delight in the promises of God. I have the Spirit of power, and of love and of a sound mind.  I am unrestricted. Amen.
