DAY 173 – DO NOT ACCEPT FALSE IDENTITIES
By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde
“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed. For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” (Romans 9:6-9)
Not all Israelites of the flesh were or are Israelites of the spirit, because it was not Abraham’s sperm that gave identity, but God’s promise. God said to Abraham, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” In other words, your family will be defined by Isaac. That means, the Israelite identity was never determined by sexual transmission, but it was God-determined by promise.
Remember the word of promise; “at this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” The same applies to us as believers of this dispensation; our identity is given through faith in the seed of Abraham – Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:16 says; “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made.” He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “AND TO YOUR SEED,” who is Christ.”
Galatians 3:7 says, “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.”
Please note: your identity is after the seed of Abraham who is Christ. Is that not amazing and powerful? Praise God for who you are. Do not allow anything else to give you false identities. Yours is God-determined, by promise. Jesus is Lord!
Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Father,
Thank You, for choosing me through Jesus Christ. Through the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I became the seed of Abraham and I received the promise. I am chosen, I have a new identity, I am blessed, and I inherit the blessing of Abraham. Amen.
