DAY 149 – YOU ARE FORGIVEN AND RESTORED FOR A HIGHER PURPOSE
By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde
“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.”
(Acts 2:14-16 & 40-41)
Peter had been an unstable disciple, letting fear and emotions be his downfall, even to the point of denying that he knew Jesus. But, because Christ is full of grace and mercy, this unstable disciple was forgiven and restored.
In Acts 2, we see a new Peter; humble but courageous. His confidence came from the overwhelming and empowering grace of God and the Holy Spirit, who made him a powerful and dynamic witness of Jesus Christ.
Have you ever felt as if you have made so many mistakes in life, that God could never forgive you and use you? No matter how many sins you have committed, God has already forgiven you and He wants to make you useful for His Kingdom. Accept and receive His abundant grace and let Him use you effectively to serve Him in this present age. Jesus is Lord!
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You, for forgiving me and restoring me to my original nature and purpose. I have accepted and received Your grace. I am empowered to live for You and serve You without fear. Now Lord, make me useful and effective in Your Kingdom. Use me to minister and manifest Your unconditional love to my family, at my place of work, my neighbourhood, city and nation. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
