DAY 127 – THE HOLY SPIRIT (yes)

By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde

“And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” (Acts 19:1-6)

Here are believers who had never heard about the Holy Spirit. Maybe it is different today, we might have believers who have heard about the Holy Spirit but do not have a relationship with Him. They are equally the same. Can you imagine how many believers struggle in their Christian walk, yet power has been made available for them? There is no victory without the power of the Holy Spirit.

You have a God-given assignment on earth, but you must depend on the grace of the Holy Spirit to finish it. It is not by self-effort. Jesus is Lord!

Today’s Prayer
Dear Holy Spirit,

Fill my spirit with the anointing of power. Clothe me with Your power to do and finish my life work. Bring me closer to You and empower me. Take away my fears and insecurities by the power of love. Help me to bring glory to my Heavenly Father. Help me to know my purpose and walk in it. Guide me and help my eyes to see heavenly things. Amen!
