DAY 119 – THE LOVE WALK

By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:36-39)

Jesus reveals to us that the two greatest commandments are based on ‘love’.
Love is power, and acts of kindness are its fruit. You cannot love without giving.
The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 that without love we are nothing and gain nothing. Our greatest purpose in life should then be to love God. We grow to love God more when we declare it as our intent and main purpose in life

God tells us in Deuteronomy 6:5 how to love Him; “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

Because love has many languages, God tells us how to love Him and what He calls loving Him. This is love for God:

1. To obey His word. According to 1 John 5:3, His word is not burdensome.

2. Love God daily by praying, worshipping, and living your life according to His word and His values (obedience out of love). Jesus is Lord!

Today’s Prayer
Dear Holy Spirit,
Teach me to love God with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my strength.” I want to follow, serve, and live for Him with all my life.
Teach me to pray, to worship, and to walk in obedience. Amen.
