DAY 117 – JESUS DIED FOR US
By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8)
While we were still sinners, God gave His Son; Jesus Christ, to die for us, in giving His Son. Graciously God gave Himself for us. In sending His Son, God graciously came Himself for us. God became the substitutional sacrifice for us, not because we were good, but just because He loved us.
Whenever you feel unsure about God’s love for you, remember that He loved you before you turned to Him. He still has the same love for you even now after turning to Him. By grace, He intervened and became the atoning sacrifice and endured the penalty that we deserved. Hallelujah! Jesus is Lord!
Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You, for going on the cross for me. You became a substitute for me, my sin was imputed to You and Your righteousness were imputed to me. Thank You, for voluntarily accepting the consequence of my sin. Amen!
