DAY 100 – NEVER GIVE UP

By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)

Paul wasn’t saying that he didn’t have difficulties. He said, “Outwardly I perish. All of these circumstances and situations keep happening to me all the time. But—my inward man is renewed day by day. Despite the challenges and hardships that kept happening to Paul, he would never give up because he knew the great power behind the gospel he believed and preached. Even though his body was deteriorating daily, his spirit in contrast was being renewed every day.
The hardships of Paul’s ministry were real and were having their effect. Paul, however, did not complain about how much he had to face and go through. Instead, he knew that every trouble, hardship, and difficulty endured for Christ’s sake was making him spiritually new.
Paul saw every difficulty as an opportunity to mature in the faith.
He understood that every hardship he went through was really small and wouldn’t last very long in comparison to how long he would enjoy God’s presence and immeasurably great glory that will last forever.

What should really matter to believers is what is eternal. Eternal things are permanent, they cannot be seen, touched, or measured. Only with the eyes of faith, can we look forward to that which we have not yet seen with physical eyes. Only with the eyes of faith can we begin to see and understand what God is orchestrating during and after times of hardship.
Our hope is not in this world. Our hope is not in the things that can be accumulated on earth. Instead, our hope is in Christ.
The presence of Jesus Christ in every believer’s life is significant and real enough. That is why the bible teaches us to walk by faith and not by sight. (2Cor.5:7)

Take your eyes off of this world—for the troubles will soon be over.

Hallelujah! Jesus is Lord!

A prayer for today:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your presence in me. Thank you for I can do all things through you who strengthens me. In you I have permanent and significant victory. You dwell in me bodily. Am complete in you, the head of all principality and power. Therefore, I can not give up nor can I fail. Thank you Lord for my future is glorious and marvellous. Amen!
