DAY 98 – THE MIND OF HEAVEN

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)

We died with Christ; we were buried with Him, and raised with Him from among the dead. The spiritual meaning of all this is, our identification is with Christ in His death and with His resurrection. We have been disconnected from man’s world, man’s religion, man’s wisdom and culture, and connected with God’s realm and with all that is in His realm.
We entered and received a complete new type of life, that is, the life of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. We walk in the likeness of His resurrection and fullness of His resurrection power. Because of this reality, we seek those things which are above. We are still on earth, but we cultivate a heavenly way of life. We are not earth-bound. We view things not as they appear to the natural world but in reference to their importance to God, the great commission and to eternity.

We think heaven and seek a heavenly way of life.
The earth and everything in it responds positively to a heaven minded man. This is the higher life we have received. Let us live it out on earth as well.

Today’s prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that transforms my mind.
I put off the old man and I put on the new man.
I put to death all my members on the earth
I am heavenly minded. I focus only on things above.
I’m renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created me.
I live a higher life in Jesus’ name!
Amen!
