YOU WILL NOT BE REDUCED TO BEGGING
By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde
“Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ”Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, ”Young man, I say to you, arise.” So, he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.” (Luke 7:11-15)
Jesus invites Himself in a very serious situation. The woman had lost her husband, and now her only son dies – her last means of support and comfort. At that moment, she had been faced with a journey of lifetime loneliness. The widow was probably past the age of childbearing and would not find a man to marry.
Her future was dark, and she would probably be reduced to begging bread. Can you imagine? Jesus came to the city Nain just for this woman. God is about to walk into your situation unexpectedly. He knows your secret tears; He is about to come in to rescue you from what seems impossible. Jesus has great compassion on your pain, and He has the power to bring hope out of any tragedy. Jesus is Lord!
Dear Lord Jesus,
I thank You, for knowing me. There is no desire in my heart that You do not know. I delight in You knowing that You will always meet the desires of my heart. Thank You, because You are walking into my situation just at the right time. You change what seems impossible for me. I cannot be reduced to begging bread, because You have put a higher value on me. I will always rejoice in You. Amen.
